Hali’s Handbag

December21

Well, it starts to look like we might be snowed in for Christmas! The freeway between us and our kids is closed for now, maybe Wednesday. Meanwhile I finished the sneak preview purse for Hali. Before I mail it off to her I thought I would share with you. I can make a bag for you too if you’re interested. Send me a note in the about me page and we can work out the style etc. It was fun to make this bag even tho I could have used a picture that was more centered on her cute little face. The idea here was to capture the costume her mommy created.

Hippie Girl sling bag

December21

I used to wear this style in high school, now I hear the younger generation is bringing it back!

I used the usual recycled denim for the body and a great piece of batik cotton for the front pocket and trimmed it with a bit of yarn that I found in my travels. Of course there are beads on the bottom and a jean pocket on the back. Click on a picture to see up close.

I lined the bag with nice light blue nylon and gave you two slip pockets inside. Click on the store, under ‘pages’ to see measurements and price.

Go to my Adoption Center and take this adorable little girl home with you today.

So if you like a roomy handbag this might be the one for you. There a two jean pockets on the outside and three slip pockets inside. A heavy duty zippper closes the top.

If you came to the site expecting to see the collection of bags you are probably surprised…I have nearly a dozen unique handbags to post here but I am trying to learn how to do all this via the phone from my son the website guy…So hang on I will get them up. Add to that we’re closing in on xmas and this may all wait til after next week…we’ll see. Not to mention I have a cute one in the works that I want to be working on.

Pretty in Pink

December19

This bag is adopted…while no two bags are alike, contact me if you’d like a similar one.

I had a lot of fun with this one. The style is taken from one of Vera Bradleys most popular. I found these little doilies that make the cutest flowers. As always I used recycled denim and other fabrics that I find here and there. People ask me where the plan comes from when I start a purse. I actually have no plan..I usually pull out all my trims and jewels and most of the fabrics, then see what goes best. What is fun is seeing it come together like a painting, not certain whether I really like it until I start stitching the front to back and it takes the shape of the finished bag. Click on the pictures to get a closer view and go to the product page for measurements and description. As always your satisfaction is guaranteed or send it back for a refund.
